Looking to get involved? MSP requires all families to donate 2 hours of their time per school year per family. Caregivers will have the opportunity to sign up for an event committee, POP position, MSP Board, and/or classroom task, with a volunteering option for every lifestyle and preference!

Take a Task Boxes

Teachers keep volunteer task boxes outside of their classroom doors.  These boxes typically have cutting, laminating, copying, playdough making, or other lesson planning prep in them. The tasks are meant to be easy to complete either in our workroom or at home in front of the TV.  Please see the office if you need to check out a laminator, scissors, paper cutter, or other tool to finish your task at home on the couch. Be sure to fill out the recording sheet if you take home a task in order to get credit for your time.

POP Meetings

POP (Parents of Preschoolers) is the “PTA” at MSP! Parents are encouraged to join us at 7:00pm on the second Tuesday of each month to help plan events and fundraising. Meetings are run by our POP board (comprised of parent volunteers) and anyone is welcome to join us regardless of signing up for a committee or board position just to stay informed!

Board of Directors

Interested in the business or educational policy side of how a public benefit non-profit preschool runs? Then our board of directors may be the right fit for you! This group consists of the MSP director, an administrative representative, staff members, parents, legacy Members, SPED professionals, and community representatives. We meet on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm and each member is asked to serve a two year term October - October.

Classroom Support

Occasionally teachers will need support for classroom activities or parties. They will reach out regarding these opportunities directly via their newsletter or Procare message, and spots are usually first come first served.

Volunteer Buy Out

Volunteering not your jam? No worries, we wont tell! Families will have the opportunity to opt out of volunteering if that works better for them.  Instead, a $50 opt out fee will be added to their billing account. No harm, no foul!  Let the office know if you would like this preemptively added to your account.

ALL CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE A COVID CARD ON FILE AND A BACKGROUND CHECK COMPLETED.

Background checks can be completed at no cost to you via the Oregon Central Background Registry, and all enrollments are good for 5 years.
