Angela Healy - Director
Mustard Seed Preschool is a very important place for me, as I attended Mustard Seed when I was four and five years old! It is such an honor to be back in at MSP as the director. I graduated from University of Oregon with a Masters Degree in Early Childhood and have been in the field for over 12 years working in both child care settings and within the community.
I also have a son and daughter who both attended Mustard Seed and are now adventuring through elementary school! Having my children and working with the children at the preschool is so much fun for me. I love watching the children thrive, learn, grow, and experiencing their excitement as they master something new! When I'm not at school, my husband, children, and I enjoy being out in nature, traveling, and spending time with our two dogs.
Kristin Podelnyk - Assistant Director, Teacher
I have been working in the field of education for the last 8 years, and am so happy to be back in the world of preschool after spending some time with elementary students! I love helping children with their social emotional development, and fostering the love of learning and new discoveries in my students during the most formative years of their education. I have a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from Oregon State University with endorsements in Early Childhood Education and Human Services. My husband, two daughters and I live in the Rock Creek community and love spending time traveling and exploring new places!
Audra Hirr - Teacher
I have taught Pre-K for 9 years. It is truly a great age to work with as a preschool teacher. I love to see children build upon their skills in an environment that helps them develop their social-emotional skills, cognitive, and language through play and discovery. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Family Studies. My husband Otto and I live in Beaverton and enjoy gardening, woodworking, and hosting neighborhood events.
Jen Zwartverwer - Teacher
I am the incoming 3/4 teacher. I joined the MSP community in 2017 as a substitute teacher and immediately felt a connection to the school and the unique sense of community that exists among parents, teachers and the director. I have a degree in Human Development and Family Science from Oregon State University with an option in Human Services. I am married and have two kids; Ellen (7) Fritz (5). In my free time I love being outdoors whether it’s skiing, hiking, camping, or exploring all of Portland’s amazing parks!
Rosie Castro - Assistant Teacher
I am the assistant in the 4/5 Pre-K classroom. I am from Mexico City and bilingual with a Child Development Associate Degree. I have been working with children and in child development for the past 15 years. I love working with the children and strive to put as much love into my work as possible.
I also have a beautiful family that believes in Jesus Christ with four children and a wonderful husband.
